The City-Building Kit for Unity already has you covered!! In battle situations, you have two different setups. This would be Player vs. Everything (PvE) and Player vs. Player (PvP). In PvE, this is also known as Campaign mode or Single Player mode. The City-Building Kit already has the capabilities to setup and test both. So it becomes a matter of which do you want to include? Both will work.
The PvP situations are pretty straight forward things. It’s a matter of the entire setup you want to include when using the City-Building Kit. The general idea being to setup so a player can find another player online and either be sent home with a loss or blast the other player to tiny pieces!! Ok, where’re the fun parts and the time savers?
The main fun part is that you’re open to do whatever you like in the setup of battle situations. The City-Building Kit never really left it as Clash of Clans clones. Things like controlling units is just one, new, aspect built into the City-Building Kit that you don’t find in other games. So instead of simple mindless units blindly running all over the place, your players can control them. Send them to attack something and once it’s dead/destroyed, they’ll just keep going!! Or you can still use automatic attacking as always.
Some of the time savers come in the form of an included path finder and developer cheats. The included path finding method, A* pathfinder, can handle EVERY unit sent out to go kill something. No fuss, no muss, no burning time in testing. But while testing, a developer would want to play “what if” just the same. The included cheat system for developers allows the various types of tests to be performed and not have to worry about things going by too fast. City Building Kit Feature Highlights
The Pro and Complete City-Building Kit for Unity are ready for just about anything you want to develop for a city builder + Real Time Strategy (RTS) game(s). But every so often, players and developers grow tired of farming and/or battles. That’s fine because the Starter City-Building Kit has that covered too. With this kit, restaurant simulators like Restaurant Story, Bakery Story, and CaféLand can be developed just as easily right out of the box. The C# scripts, artwork, assets, and everything else you need are already included. It was just a matter of deciding what you want to make for a restaurant simulation. The mix and match capabilities in the City-Building Kit allow you to create games using artwork, sounds effects, and other game elements either with the included assets or your own self made assets.
RTS Game Battle Guide
The Complete City-Building Kit for Unity comes with a Real Time Strategy (RTS) game battle guide. This is called Chimera Live PvP Debugger. It’s a dual purpose messaging system that is only found in only the Complete Kit. It uses a female voice and more artwork is available for it in the Assets Store. It comes with a standard mode and EMP Signal Loss mode. In a game such as Clash of Clans, the messages to players are typically in the form of pop ups. In a game like Command and Conquer, the messages to players are similar to what can be made with the City-Building Kit. With the included Helios.cs file, all needed messages can be setup for use in no time flat.
In order for a developer to bring their game(s) online for multi-player battle mode, they need to have synchronization between the two players. The basics of it are that a game can be played entirely offline (single player). But then how do the players find others, and how do they get the most current version of the map/setup/defense of the others they want to attack?
Single Player Campaign
The Complete version of the City-Building Kit for Unity comes with a server demo and everything else you need to add single player campaigns to your game. With a single player campaign, there are two main styles (online and offline). The City-Building Kit allows you to create either style right out of the box. Simply edit the files you’re concerned with and you’re ready to go. With some simple editing of the included files, you can name the single player campaign whatever you like; “quest mode” for example. There are five different modes for you to work with and include into your game(s) already built into the kit. The single player campaign is based on pre-made maps that load when specified rather than maps of other players.
Strategy Game Template
The City-Building Kit for Unity is designed as a type of game engine. When developing your city building + Real Time Strategy (RTS) game(s), there are a very large number of things to consider. The artwork and sound effects, unit AI, PvP situations, and the design of the game alone can take a very long time just to figure out. The City-Building Kit is a strategy game template that you can use to develop clone games like Clash of Clans, Fantasy II Defense, Cityville, Farmville, Restaurant Story, and/or The Tribez. In order the save you from much of the work associated in developing games, a template is used to do most of the work. The City-Building Kit has it all right out of the box.
When you purchase the City-Building Kit for Unity, everything can be edited to make your own Clash of Clans, Farmville, or similar city building + Real Time Strategy (RTS) clone game(s). The terrain included in the kit serves multiple purposes just like every other part of the kit. The main purposes are to learn from, as an example/reference, and you can edit it for use in your own game(s). The included terrain is a beach island. The included terrain assets (pieces) are various objects you can place in your game(s) royalty free. Even if you don’t have your own art to work with, it’s included in the Complete Kit too. And in case you have missed or mistaken it, it does say ROYALTY FREE.

Does it work with Unity 5? Why do I still need NGUI/2DTK?
Yes, we support Unity 5 however the UI/2D functions expanding the kit are far more advanced than Unity 5's UI/2D features currently provide. You'll need the NGUI and 2D Toolkit assets which are further developed.

When do you release updates?
We've designed the kit to be compatible with future releases of Unity, NGUI, and 2DTK since we don't update often unless we discover a bug we missed during our extensive testing we did before this past release.
